It’s Whale watching time! Right now is prime gray whale watching months in San Diego, as
these gray whales make the 10,000 mile round-trip journey from their breeding grounds along Baja California to their winter home back in Alaska. They can often be spotted from shore, especially from hiking trails overlooking the Pacific at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps, the Cabrillo National Monument and Torrey Pines State Reserve.

Explore one of the most beautiful flower fields on earth and take in all of the colors and sweet scents this weekend at The Flower Fields in Carlsbad. The nearly fifty acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up the Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch in Carlsbad, California, are in bloom for approximately six to eight weeks each year – from early March through early May – literally bringing the famous fields back to life. This annual burst of color, which has become part of the area’s local heritage, also is one of nature’s official ways of announcing the arrival of spring here in Southern California.
