This weekend the San Diego Botanical Garden premieres “Seeing
the Invisible” Augmented Reality Art Show! Featuring 13 international artists, this show is one of the most ambitious and expansive exhibitions to date of contemporary artworks created with augmented reality (AR) technology.

Need a ladies day out this weekend? St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center (SMSC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will host its annual Tea by the Sea event this Saturday from 11am – 2 30pm! This event will take place at the elegant Marine Room in La Jolla. Guests are encouraged to dress in their favorite tea-time attire for the event, and attendees will be treated to complimentary signature cocktails and hors d’oeuvres paired with beautiful oceanfront views. Burgeon Beer Co. is celebrating their 5th Anniversary this weekend! Enjoy rare beers from 36 of the nation’s finest craft breweries, meet brewers, and get early access to special Burgeon Beer releases at their biggest anniversary celebration yet! There will also be local vendors serving some of San Diego’s favorite snacks! 

Calling all coffee connoisseurs… Union Cowork will be offering a specialty coffee tasting event this Saturday! This workshop will introduce you to the world of specialty coffee, and give you the opportunity to find your favorites. The tasting will consist of 4 flights of various specialty coffees as well as fruits they pair well with. By the end of this workshop, you’ll be an expert. 

 

Sunday, January 23rd

For some family fun this weekend, take the kiddos to the Jurassic Quest at Del Mar Fairgrounds! This will be the LAST weekend this event is happening, you don’t want to miss it! Jurassic Quest is North America’s largest and most realistic Dinosaur event. Guests are able to walk through the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic Periods and experience for themselves what it was like to be among dinosaurs of all kinds. The quest also includes interactive features where future paleontologists can dig up fossils, ride life sized dinosaurs, enjoy shows, facepainting and more! Learn more about the Jurassic Quest here!

The San Diego Watercolor Society is featuring “The New Purple is Black, an Art Exhibition”, juried by award-winning artist, Wanda Honeycutt this weekend! Along with the exhibit, you will enjoy over 95 ready to hang paintings uniquely crafted by Watercolor Society members!
