The San Diego Museum of Art presents I Am Here: Telling Stories Through Art. Join Brian
Selznick for an engaging conversation about telling stories through art. His experience includes winning the Caldecott Medal in 2008 for writing and illustration of “The Invention of Hugo Cabret,” which was made into an Academy Award-nominated movie directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Ben Kingsley. Brian is a lifelong artist who draws constantly and loves going to art museums to see all the beautiful drawings that other artists make. Join us to hear how he brings art to life through stories.

Coronado Playhouse presents Harlem Duet. Set in contemporary Harlem, in what could be a prelude to Shakespeare’s Othello, the story of Othello and his and his first wife, Billie is told through the lives of three couples during eras of special significance in the Black American Experience, the 1860’s, 1928 and the present. Harlem Duet received Canada’s highest literary honor for dramatic writing, the Governor General’s Literary Award and the Floyd S. Chalmers Canadian Play Award.

Witness the music and dance of Poland during the The Roots of Revival experience, being streamed live from Warsaw Poland! This hour-long journey will take you through the roots of Poland’s ancient village music and then on to modern day hits.
